At Murray Law, we offer a wide range of services related to the formation and dissolution of family relationships. For example, if you are about to get married and feel you need a prenuptial agreement, we can help.
Our service is sympathetic at all stages and we will ensure that you receive the best advice and representation you deserve.
We work closely with our clients to provide a variety of solutions to their issues, before or after entering into a relationship/marriage/civil partnership.
Marriage, Civil Partnership and Cohabitation all create legal obligations. We can draft a Minute of Agreement (also known as a Separation Agreement) to regulate financial affairs following a separation. If you have any children then this Agreement can regulate residence (formerly known as custody) and contact (formerly known as access).
We offer a proactive approach to the ever-growing public recognition of Pre-nuptial and Cohabitation Agreements as a useful means of reducing potential conflict in the unfortunate event of the breakdown of a relationship.
We are also fully aware that issues relating to children can be very emotional and stressful for all parties involved, including the children, which is why we aim to make this period in your life as stress free as possible. For many years Mr. Murray has acted as a Bar Reporter/latterly a Child Welfare Reporter, in family cases involving disputes between parents involving residence or contact issues.
This role usually involves meeting with the parties to the Action, the children and reporting back to the Court. The Report may be verbal in the presence of the parties but is usually a written Report for the assistance of the Family Sheriff dealing with the case.
